Mount Kilimanjaro: Up the Mountain, Day 4
The long overdue Day 4 was my favorite day on the mountain. Our day started early and icey as we headed up the Barronco Wall, that's right, this day was a bit of scrambling up a steep wall that would lead us even closer to the top!
The wall was quite steep, and we had to share it with porters from all different camps. We kept our pace of slow and steady and we all made it up this fantastic part of the mountain.
There were parts where we had to jump across some gapped rocks, we had to go around a huge boulder so closely that you could kiss it (and I did), and a part of the rocks where even scrambling was difficult because it was so smooth.
I think the photos and videos do this day the best!
Once we reached the top, we had another cliff top picnic to regain our senses before we headed across an area that looked like a mountain dessert plain before reaching our next campsite.
The rest of the trip will be in the next blog posting because Day 5 happens in 2 chunks and leads into days 6 and 7 as we go up to the tippity top and back down to the bottom!
